Monica Murphy DVM MPH DACVPM

Dr. Monica Murphy went to veterinary school at University of Minnesota and trained as an intern at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her years working as a vet in New York inspired her to go back to school for a Master of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins University in 2010, and she has since earned a board certification from the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Murphy’s special interests include community health, preventative care, and infectious diseases. She and her husband, Bill Wasik, published Rabid: a History of the World’s Most Diabolical Virus in 2012—and when she’s not caring for dogs and cats at The Village Veterinarian, she’s researching what she hopes will be her next book.
